Every self-published author likes to engage with their readers. Many, like me, want to build up an email list of readers who have enjoyed their work. This can be great when launching a new title, and I have often asked my readers for help. I have found new beta readers and even editors among them, learned of book clubs reading my books, received assistance in finding historical details, and of course many of them have bought my latest book. So I ask people who visit my website to leave their first name and email address. And when people leave comments with a visible email address I contact them and ask their permission to add them to my list. Anyone can unsubscribe from the list at any time. And I would never sell or give anyone’s email address to any third party.
